Gestetner Changes to Lanier
Block Business Systems announced that beginning May 1, 2007, it will market and sell Lanier branded office equipment and no longer sell the Gestetner brand of products. The change to Lanier is being made because Ricoh, which manufacturers both Gestetner and Lanier brands worldwide, is phasing out the Gestetner brand in the United States.
“By uniting Gestetner and Lanier’s strengths, capitalizing on their heritage and continuing to leverage the advanced technology and global scope of our parent company Ricoh Company Ltd., our dealers will be able to offer a strong brand and comprehensive resources to our end users,” said Sam Ichioka, Chairman and CEO of Ricoh Corporation.
“While we have a long history with the Gestetner brand, we are excited about the change to Lanier, as it is a very well known brand throughout the world,” said John Schriver, President of Block Business Systems. “The Lanier products will continue to offer our customers the finest office equipment available, and combined with our 21 years of customer service and support, we are confident of our sustained success.”
